DESCRIPTION: Hourly Research Assistant (Laboratory Monitor) working in a grant-funded behavioral pharmacology research laboratory will be responsible for observing and recording research participants' activities in a residential laboratory.

DUTIES: Research Laboratory Monitor will use computers to record participants' behaviors, communicate with participants, and process food requests. Incumbent will assist in operational activities, data collection, and food packaging. Research Monitors will work under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager and Principal Investigators

The following shifts are available:

Evenings (5:00pm - 9:00pm) and Overnights (11:30pm - 8:00am). Monitors will be asked to work part-time for 2-4 weeks, followed by 2-6 weeks when there will be no work. Reimbursement for car fare available for evening hour shifts. 

Work schedule is flexible and irregular; some weekend shifts required.

Some college preferred. Experience with computers, behavioral science, and human subject research is useful. Attention to detail is imperative.

Organizational skills, attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to work without continuous supervision are critical components of this position. Familiarity/proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint are essential.
