Seeking a full-time Research Support Assistant to be involved in our single-molecule and ensemble in vivo and in vitro projects to understand the structural and functional properties of G protein-coupled receptors and their interactions with arrestin and other effectors. The qualified candidate will work closely with our sub-group members, the supervisor, and the principal investigator.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Research Support Assistant will be expected to use standard techniques in molecular biology including PCR techniques, sub-cloning, DNA purification, and gel electrophoresis. Experience working with mammalian cells and other sterile-tissue-culture techniques is required. Knowledge of recombinant protein expression and purification is also required. Experience using Matlab for data analysis is highly desirable. Familiarity with fluorescence microscopy is preferred. The RA will keep records of DNA primers, vectors, and frozen cell stocks and prepare buffers, media, and other solutions.

Minimum Qualifications: BS or MA degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related fields. At least two years of experience using various molecular biology & sterile-tissue-culture techniques. Must have experience with various energy transfer-based GPCR cell-based assays and standard molecular biology techniques, with a strong interest in receptor pharmacology.

Preferred Qualifications: Must be organized, work well with others, capable of working with minimal supervision, and capable of thoroughly documenting daily activities and experiments. Knowledge of standard graphing software (GraphPad Prism and Microsoft Excel), Matlab, and Microsoft Word.

Salary: $39,716+$3,026 Location pay
