The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. at the New York State Psychiatric Institute is seeking a Director of Digital and Media Services. This position is a critical member of the Department of Psychiatry, working with Department leadership the position is the communications interface with internal and external audiences. Director of Digital and Media Services designs and implements digital and traditional media campaigns and initiatives. Promoting the department's overall brand and expertise keeps the Department front and center with donors, foundations and local, state and national grant awarding government agencies. The Digital and Media Director develops, executes, and evaluates content for a range of communications and media/community relations focused on sharing research; highlighting programs and services; educating a range of audiences on issues of prevention, treatment and recovery from mental and addictive disorders; and supports the department's efforts to shape policy and regulations that support the availability of effective, culturally competent treatments and services. The Director serves as a connection's strategist, helping the Department ensure a brand that is synonymous with excellence and that the Department is valued as the source others look to for information, ideas and direction regarding mental and addictive disorders.


Duties & Responsibilities:

-Build, plan and implement digital and media marketing strategies using all tools (e.g. website, emails, social media and blogs)

-Research products, services and current strategies to suggest new campaigns and initiatives and opportunities

-Manage and improve online content, considering SEO and Google Analytics and suggest solutions to boost web presence

-Ability to edit videos, podcasts, photos, or create graphics for web content

-Oversee technical planning and execution of live and virtual conferences, events, podcasts etc.

-Build strong relationships within Psychiatry and the medical center and university as well as with external audiences 

-Help department areas/divisions develop and evolve ideas that brings together addressing patients' needs and their brand and financial goals.

-Oversee and manage digital marketing channels, measuring ROI and KPIsStay up to date with latest technology and best practices

-Prepare and manage budgets

-Monitor competition and provide suggestions for improvement


Minimum Qualifications:

-2 years of experience as a Digital Marketing Director/Strategist or similar role

-3 years of communications experience

-Strong knowledge and experience with all digital and traditional marketing channels

-Ability to edit videos, podcasts, photos, or create graphics for web content

-Ability to support live and virtual conference, event and meeting tools - including recording and editing

-Experience interviewing and writing including press releases

-Comfortable managing relationships with reporters

-Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills

-Ability to plan and management time

-Ability to supervise staff, trainees and volunteers

-Great interpersonal and communication skills

-Degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital technologies or relevant health field


Preferred Qualifications:

-Experience and/or strong commitment to healthcare specifically mental health and addictions
