Reporting to the Division Chief and to the Director of RFMH at NYSPI, the incumbent will assist the Chief for the overall financial and
administrative management of a research division, which includes significant funded research. This position has responsibility across
three entities, Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene (RFMH), New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI), and the Department
of Psychiatry (DOP).


The Division Administrator will ensure that the Division is financially viable and is in compliance with all applicable regulatory and
transactional policies, procedures and processes. S/he will successfully interface with the RFMH, NYSPI and DOP's centralized
budget and fiscal operations, ensuring that all budget and fiscal work is carried out smoothly and with strict compliance.

S/he will ensure successful management of grants/contracts within the division, collaborating with Principal Investigators and the
RFMH and DOP's centralized research pre-and-post award functions. Work with investigators on development and submission of
grant and contract applications. Prepares proposed budgets and budget justifications while ensuring resource allocation is accurate
and appropriate. Guides and assists investigators with application deliverables, including compiling and formatting grant and contract
applications to meet sponsor specifications that are submitted in time to meet specific deadlines. Acts as liaison between
investigators and the internal grants/contracts management office.

Minimum Qualifications:

Three to five years of administrative experience in a large complex academic or research setting working directly with research budgets; experience with financial management of pre and post grant awards procedures and processes; ability to manage complex, detailed, and multistep projects, including grant preparation;

Preferred Qualifications:

excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills; ability to analyze and coalesce data from multiple sources and present it in a straightforward format (both financial and narrative); ability to identify solutions to complex problems; high level of proficiency with financial systems including spreadsheet preparation and presentation; understanding of managerial accounting principles
