The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time position of Research Assistant in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The Research Assistant will contribute to the coordination of a large multi-site implementation science study titled Project Opioid Court REACH. During the study, we will develop and test technical assistance strategies for establishing and/or improving opioid court operations, with the goal of improving participants' access to recovery supports and treatment for opioid use disorder/overdose risk.


Assisting in the development and evaluation of technical assistance materials.
Conducting interviews, check-ins and focus groups with project stakeholders.
Assisting in day-to-day operations of the project, which can include: (1) IRB protocols (continuations and amendments); (2) quantitative data collection.
Interfacing with participating sites, allowing for effective coordination and scheduling of project activities.
Assisting with preparation of presentations, reports for project sites/stakeholders, drafts for publications and reference building with opportunities for publications under the supervision of the Research Coordinator.
Other duties include providing administrative support for the Research Coordinator, assisting in the coordination of professional meetings or events, using administrative datasets to create data visualizations, drafting/proofing documents, composing correspondence with other investigators and collaborators, literature reviews, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree at a minimum; Masters level degree in Epidemiology, Statistics or related field preferred.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:  Applicant must have at least one year of experience working in a research setting.  Applicant must be extremely organized and detail oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team.  Additional requirements include:  1) experience and expertise with data entry and analysis 2) excellent library research and computer skills in MS Excel, SPSS, Qualtrics, and the ability to learn new software 3) experience with New York State probation MIS data, and 4) strong writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred abilities include: excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adherence to detail, multi-tasking in a fast paced environment, software skills including Microsoft office suite, Qualtrics, REDcap or other similar survey administration software, experience working with administrative datasets to clean and format data for analysis, and demonstrated understanding of SPSS, SAS, and STATA.
