The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene Inc. is looking for part-time psychotherapist (psychologist, psychiatrist, or licensed clinical social worker) to conduct brief individual psychotherapy intervention for patients with newly diagnosed lung disease as part of a collaborative research study between departments of Pulmonology and NYSPI/Department of Psychiatry at CUIMC. Intervention involves combination of individual sessions and MBSR group conducted by another clinician. During ongoing COVID pandemic, all sessions will be conducted via online video platforms. Clinicians will first participate in the training to conduct this new integrative intervention, and throughout the study will participate in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings with study investigators and other clinicians. There might be opportunities to contribute to publications resulting from this study.

One or two positions may be available. Time commitment: Approximately 240 direct clinical hours (or 120 hours if 2 therapists are hired) plus regular team meetings, admin hours, etc. The schedule will depend on patients' enrollment rate. Therefore there could be min 0 to max 8 sessions per week (or max 4 sessions/week if 2 therapists are hired).

This position is paid based upon number of hours worked. The hourly rate for this position is calculated using a base figure of $129,705.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-learning integrative treatment approach developed by study team
-conducting individual sessions with patients
-participating in team meetings with other clinicians and study co-PIs
-implement interdisciplinary team approach to treating patients

Minimum Qualifications:

- licensed psychotherapist (MD, PhD, or CLSW)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with medically ill patients is a plus - Experience or familiarity with mind-body interventions (e.g. MBSR) or with integrating them into psychotherapy treatment is a plus
