Description: The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene INC. is seeking a self-motivated, hard-working, detail-oriented individual for full-time employment as a Research Assistant to provide research support. The position requires a highly organized person, who exercises good judgment and the ability to work without continuous supervision, to assist with all aspects of the day-to-day operations of a multi-site clinical trial involving the treatment of individuals with opioid use disorders. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, oral and written, strong organizational skills, including effective time management and the ability to manage competing priorities. The candidate will be meticulous in carrying out research protocols and enjoy working with human subjects with the ability to work both independently and alongside study leadership with appropriate guidance and support, demonstrated flexibility and persistence through excellent follow-up and follow-through skills, and have excellent computer skills in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS (basic skills), and Adobe Acrobat.

Duties and Responsibilities: Under the guidance of study leadership, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Working collaboratively with the Investigators and other study personnel on the daily operations of the project, including participant recruitment, implementing research studies described in the funded grant as approved by the IRB, and maintaining study supplies and equipment.
Scheduling participant appointments and accompanying study participants to assessments and/or study procedures conducted at different Columbia University locations.
Interacting with study participants to complete assessments in person and on the phone, including data entry.
Drawing blood (will be trained if not already a certified phlebotomist), performing urine drug screens, vital signs, and EKGs.
Maintaining case report forms and study files.
Utilizing effective communication strategies to coordinate schedules, organizing, and participating in project meetings and conference calls, including coordination between different national study sites.
Assisting with creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports.
Assisting with IRB correspondence.
Assisting with preparation of presentations for the PI and project leadership for scientific conferences and meetings.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (minimum) or Master's degree with emphasis on behavioral sciences (preferred),

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of and/or experience in research with substance use disorders populations, particularly the treatment of opioid use disorder. Some experience in behavioral science and/or human subjects research strongly preferred.
