This position requires the candidate to develop, maintain and enhance existing and new database applications and websites for the Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene (RFMH) at the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI). Given detailed requirements, the selected candidate will successfully develop and enhance the systems.

Responsibilities include full life-cycle software development of administrative/business information systems in a research/healthcare environment. Consultation with management to ensure compliance with policy, workflow, and fulfilling the computing needs as requested.
Develop new applications and modify existing systems to improve workflow, and Ad-hoc data reporting and analysis. Test, maintain, and monitor programs and systems to ensure accuracy and correct program code as errors are discovered. Install new applications as needed.
Develop system documentation, and revise systems design, testing and quality control procedures. Maintain interactive, data driven websites. Train staff in the use of existing and new software applications and websites; act as Level 2 support for all applications and provide assistance to the users in troubleshooting application issues. Stay current on programming principles and techniques. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
2 years of corporate software development

The candidate must be proficient in windows and website design utilizing the following:
Windows 10 Enterprise
Visual Studio 2012 or later
Visual Basic.Net
Creating and modifying stored procedures, triggers, and views w/ T-SQL.

The candidate must be self-motivated; able to perform tasks with little to no direct supervision; detail oriented; able to work quickly and effectively to produce quality product; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Database development in Microsoft SQL Server 2016;
