The Research Foundation is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time position of Research Project Manager/ licensed social worker (LCSW or equivalent) in the Center for OCD and Related Disorders at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC).

This position is ideal for someone who wants to work in an outstanding academic medical center, join an interdisciplinary team that conducts cutting-edge patient-oriented translational research, and receive expert training in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety and OCD. Experience and extensive training in OCD/EXRP are a must.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will involve joining Dr. Simpson's research program, which is focused on translating science into new understanding and treatments for anxiety and OCD. The candidate will participate in a variety of research studies (see, including managing a new study that is in collaboration with Dr. Edna Foa at the University of Pennsylvania. This study will examine how hormones may alter activity within the brain's fear network as well as the clinical response to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Duties include project oversight, supervision of externs and research assistants, clinical evaluations of research participants and delivery of CBT (both within and outside of research studies) to those with OCD and anxiety, and, depending on the candidate's interests and career goals, data analysis and writing of papers and grants.

Licensed social worker (LCSW).
