We are studying the implementation of a program designed to prevent sexual risk behaviors and substance use among criminally involved youth age 18 24.  The project will be conducted in Brooklyn, NY.  The Research Assistants will be responsible for conducting qualitative structured interviews with criminally involved youth aged 18-24.  Interviews will take place at the King's County Downtown Brooklyn Courthouse, in the homes of participants, and in community-based settings in Brooklyn NY. Time commitment will be approximately 10-20 hours per week.
RAs will perform research project related duties such as: subject recruitment, in-person and telephone eligibility screening, interview scheduling, tracking participants, and data management.   The RAs will also be responsible for supervising and assisting Peer Recruiters.
Education & Training:
Bachelors-level (currently in Master's degree program a plus)

Must have at least one year of prior experience in a research setting and have experience conducting one-on-one interviews with youth.  Applicant must be extremely organized and detail oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team.  Experience working in justice settings preferred. Additional requirements include:  1) strong writing skills, 2) excellent library research and computer skills in MS word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe, SPSS or the ability to learn new software programs quickly, 3) excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and 4) demonstrated leadership abilities.
