Anticipated Position
Experienced Research Assistant needed to work on a new Center Grant program, Optimizing and Personalizing Interventions for Schizophrenia Across the Lifespan (OPA)L. The goal of this Center is to accelerate the adaptation, development and implementation of effective, personalized treatments in real-world settings for people diagnosed with schizophrenia. Effort will be divided between a specific project and assistance with the Administrative Core.

1. The incumbent will work on a qualitative interview project evaluating the feasibility and effectiveness of a cognitive health intervention conducted with adults with serious mental illness.
2. Incumbent will additionally assist the Administrative Core with administrative and data needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Research Assistant will work closely with the Project Leads to accomplish specific project aims. Responsibilities include:

Project 1:
1. Interview individuals with schizophrenia and their clinicians at state operated behavioral health clinics regarding their experiences with the intervention
2. Work with the research team to generate a qualitative data coding scheme with which to analyze interview data
3. Code and manage interview transcripts
4. Prepare qualitative data files for data analysis

Administrative Core:
1. Assist Center Administrator with data sharing requirements including collection and preparation of data, data submission agreement, and making sure data conforms to the NIMH regulations.
2. Routine administrative tasks like taking notes, sending reminders, drafting memos, etc., related to the functioning of the Center.
3. Assistance with other Center projects (administration, coordination, and data collection) as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with at least one year related experience; Master's degree preferred and acceptable in lieu of related experience. Must be able to travel throughout NYC to meet and interview subjects. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters level is preferred. Background in mental health field preferred. Prefer candidate with clinical experience with seriously mentally ill; and experience with diagnostic and clinical interviewing, psychiatric symptom assessment and neurocognitive assessment.
