The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a Research Assistant to assist with various clerical, administrative and study-related tasks including study recruitment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Research Assistants will work under the supervision of the Research Coordinator and Principal Investigators. Duties will include assisting in the following tasks as needed by the lab:
Clerical: answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, confirming appointments, scanning clinical documents and assembling research binders, re-stocking evaluation binders, print jobs, off-site storage management, supplies inventory and ordering, monitoring equipment maintenance, handling faxes and mail distribution, filing.
Administrative:  submitting requisitions for supplies, placing advertisements
Study related:  maintaining enrollment logs and weekly activity reports, maintaining temperature logs and other regulatory requirements as needed, monitoring subject study progress, performing phlebotomy and blood processing (training within the first month of hire).


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in a biological science or psychology (or graduation expected within 6 months)
Experience with data entry, database use, and clinical research research.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently on a research project.
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Powerpoint.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to work without continuous supervision are critical components of this position.


Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual Spanish.
Experience with SPSS.
Phlebotomy Certification preferred; willingness to be trained within first month of hire required.
