The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking applicants for a research assistant position to assist in ongoing research projects using multimodal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to better understand the mechanisms underlying common psychiatric symptoms and their treatment in children and adolescents. The position is full-time. Weekend and evening hours are required to accommodate participant schedules.

The research assistant will be responsible for collecting behavioral and MRI data from child, adolescent, and adult research volunteers participating in brain imaging studies examining the function and organization of neural circuits in a range of psychiatric disorders.

Specific duties will include:

1) Telephone pre-screening of potential research participants
2) Schedule research participants for evaluations, MRI scans, and treatment visits
3) Obtain informed assent/consent from prospective research participants and their parents
4) Collect bio-specimens including urine samples for pregnancy testing and saliva samples for genetic and hormone testing
5) Administer and score psycho-diagnostic and cognitive assessments
6) Administer computer-based cognitive performance tasks
7) Work with MRI Technologist to collect brain imaging data
8) Enter data and perform basic data management

Minimum Qualifications:

1) Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related field
2) Experience working with children or adults with psychiatric disorders
3) Prior research experience
4) Available evenings (two weekday evenings/week) and weekends (two weekend days/month) as needed to accommodate participant schedules

Preferred Qualifications:

1) Experience collecting MRI data
2) Familiarity with statistical software such as SPSS
3) Spanish-speaking
